About Us
Manor Training & Resource Centre Ltd (MaTReC), evolved from Manor Employment Project (MEP), which began life in 1979.
The MEP project was set up to provide premises for small local businesses.

By the mid 80s the issue of training had become increasingly important, so MaTReC was established in April 1987, with the express aim of providing local people with the opportunities to obtain skills and qualifications. We now offer training to all the people of Sheffield and surrounding areas.

The MaTReC building was converted from old shops using local labour. It was opened in 1989 by Richard Caborn MP.

The majority of MaTReC staff started out as students and many live locally. We also have a large number of volunteers carrying out various activities for the organisation whilst training.
