PTLLS 7303 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector is an introductory qualification for all teachers in the learning and skills sector.

All new teachers in the learning and skills sector (all post 16 education - including FE, adult and community learning, work-based learning and offender education) in England will be required to possess qualifications which form part of the Qualified Teacher - Learning and Skills (QTLS) framework.

 

Study Plan
 

The 7303 Award comprises of 1 unit made up of 5 different sections entitled "Preparing to Teach in the Life-long Sector". PTLLS and is based upon the teacher training cycle.

The 5 sections cover the candidate's understanding of;

Own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in relation to teaching

Appropriate teaching and learning approaches in a specialist area

Session planning skills and demonstration of these skills

How to deliver inclusive sessions which motivate learners

Use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping

It has a value of 6 credits consisting of 30 hours class contact with an additional 30 hours of personal study time required for completion of mandatory theory and practical assignments.

You will need to have a good standard of written English (a minimum of Level 2 is required as a course prerequisite) and be a motivated and dedicated learner.

Acceptance on the course is through application and interview.
