  • improving your ability to learn by looking at how you like to learn best
  • gaining confidence in your own planning and organisational skills
  • identifying areas for improvement
  • learning how to turn a problem area into an area of strength using different methods

Helps you gain confidence in writing by
knowing the difference between business and
personal styles when producing documents.

If you do not know the answer to these

  • What is the difference between a letter and a memo?
  • Which document needs a signature: a
    memo, a letter, an email?
  • In which type of document can you use
    informal language?

You will also develop confidence and gain
skills in using punctuation, grammar and
develop spelling strategies to tackle confusing business words. You will be working towards gaining a National Test qualification.

Do you know how to recognise your strengths when writing about yourself?

Can you produce a CV that highlights your key skills, abilities, knowledge and experience?

Do job advertisements confuse you?

This course will help you to get a better understanding of what employers want and how you can make a good impression using a
variety of tools and resources, eg on-line application processes, paper-based applications. You will be working towards gaining a National Test qualification.

No cost to learner

This qualification is suitable for those who wish to develop the knowledge, skills and
understanding of routine administrative
practice.

To achieve this qualification, candidates must achieve at least 8 credits at level 1.

Some of the units will include :
• Working in business and administration
• Creating business documents
• Making and receiving calls
• Welcoming visitors
